Patrick Posted August 14, 2019 Share Hello, You can look this website : https://caniuse.com/#search=webp You will see if it's interesting to try to implement something like that or not. Advantage : Image format that supports lossy and lossless compression, as well as animation and alpha transparency. It could be anternative against the png format. Quote Link to post
Ronaldo Posted August 14, 2019 Share Looking this post, I found this article on zdnet : https://www.zdnet.com/article/firefox-and-edge-add-support-for-googles-webp-image-format/ For pc mozilla and chrome seems no problem but about Apple it seems it do not wok. Quote Link to post
Drack Posted August 14, 2019 Share I think it's not the time to make this if Apple has nt implement the webp inside thier browser and mobile. I think it's better to make a good optimization and resolution on the image (transparency or not) and wait when it will be implemented by Apple. Quote Link to post

If you want to try WEBP image, don't do the hard way. You should install https://www.modpagespeed.com for your site. That's all! Quote Link to post
Patrick Posted October 29, 2019 Share Some people do not have a server or do not have something to install this. But It will be interesting what's happen with clicshopping and if your performance are really increased in comparaison with a standard installation and with htaccess. On my website with page rank I am on 96%. Quote Link to post
